Have used all used motion detectors of any sort? They might prove handy in a large building where you cannot get adequate coverage. I wish we would have had them at the Elks this past winter.

'Mo,
So far we have not used any stand alone motion sensors, but there is a motion sensor built into our DVR system that blinks a 'm' on the screen when it detects movement. We have found that it usually can be set off by a large amount of dust particles and what not.
Eventually, I think we might employ them but right now, we have a rather large assortment of equipment that keeps us busy monitoring during investigations.

Don't forget the modified game camera Brad and Laurie have. We used it once on an investigation. Never had any 'paranormal' stuff set it off. Wish we had it on that last visit to the Lucky Nugget. I've only seen a stand alone motion detector used once or twice. That was on Paranormal State. They had it alarm a few times but, didn't show what could of set it off.

Mark With your new toy (the game camera) we might be able to get something worthwhile.

Yup, working on finding a better screw for the tripod for it and tweaking the settings.

I don't know about using them for an investigation, but at the house where I worked in Tallahassee, ours would set off the alarm all the time. When they first put it in, it was set off by raccoons and cats getting into the building a few times, so they adjusted it to only be triggered by a full-sized human (aimed at a certain height). Can't tell you how many times that thing still went off in the middle of the night, and my poor boss would have to go down and meet the police to do a sweep of the building, only to find out that no one was there and everything was locked tight from the inside.
